Tumbling/Tap – Instructor is Dezi Haderlie.  This class’s focus is to improve gross and fine motors skills while learning to tumble and tap.  And of course – having a great time while doing it!

Tumbling skills are taught beginning with all types of rolls and cartwheels.  Progressions with be taught up through back handsprings and back tucks.  Each student progresses at their own rate and appropriate skills are taught as the student is ready.  A group tumbling number is then learned and performed at the spring recital.

Tap is taught during the weekly class as well.  A tap shoe is required.  Slip on shoes can often be best for the boys as they are easy to put on – but lace up leather oxfords are also acceptable.  A group number for the spring recital is also learned.

Agility drills to improve gross and fine motor skills will be part of our warm up each day.  These skills include but are not limited to jumping jacks, sit-ups, push-ups, karaoke, mountain climbers, burpees, jumping rope and a variety of relay games.

Boys must be 5 years old and in Kindergarten to be in this class.  Tumblers are only taught through 6th grade typically.  (The boys become bigger than the teachers and we can’t spot them safely anymore at that time!)  This class is held once a week for 45 minutes.  Tuition is $43/month.  The oldest group of boy tumblers attend class for 1 hour/week and tuition is $48/month.
